2018 Best Wide-Format Printer Brands - (in alphabetical order)

HP – HP has been an old faithful in wide-format printing for some time now. To this day, they still produce high quality products that range from small to very large in terms of equipment size and printing capabilities. The catch, however, is that they exclusively make ink-based printers. This isn’t a negative if your volume needs are light, but if you are familiar with the costs associated with wide-format printers (or printers in general), you know that ink cartridges can crush your budget if your machine is used often.

KIP – In terms of products sold, KIP is the current leader in the wide-format marketplace for toner-based systems. In addition, KIP printers have the advantage of currently being the only toner-based color printer for wide-format – in the world. If you are familiar with the costs associated with replenishing ink cartridges, then a toner-based color printer could be a big cost saver for your needs. If you don’t have a large need for color printing, then this perk may not be worth the investment.

Oce/CanonOce is a very well-known company for wide-format and production printing and are now owned by Canon. Canon products include B&W toner-based printing, which allows the Canon corporation to offer both ink and toner-based systems for wide/large format printing. The result, is a marriage of options between the hard-working, industry-standard machines of Canon and the high-end production printers of Oce.
